California Dreamin' On Such a Winter's Day

My next trip is fast approaching, only three weeks away now! And although it's not an extravagant transcontinental trip, it will be quite a fun adventure! As I sit in my Brooklyn apartment, shivering against the creeping chill that is managing to seep through the window panes, past the curtains and around the heaters and underneath my blankets, I can't help but close my eyes and dream of someplace greener....

I'm visiting the LA area for the first time, and I couldn't be more excited about crossing a few more things off my bucket list!

My roommate, Marquita, and I are flying there to visit with our friend and former co-worker from our undergrad days, David. And our other friend Manny is meeting us there, as well. These are some of my favorite people in the world, God's servants, truly the salt of the earth. I'm anticipating my face being sore everyday from smiling/laughing too hard!

We have a tentative list of fun-tivities and a lose itinerary. The perfect kind of planning for any trip involves a balance of preparation, information, flexibility and "nonrestrictivenes."

Here's the list (let me know if you have suggestions!):

Conan (Not the Barbarian!)
LACMA (Art!)
La Brea Tar Pits (Dinosaurs!)
Venice Beach (People!)
Grauman's Chinese Theater (Hand/Foot comparisons!)
Sunset Boulevard (Hookering!)
Rodeo Drive (CC MAXED OUT!)
Oceanside (Friends!)
Maybe the Getty? (ART IS AWESOME!)
Celebrities (They're just like us!)
Driving (aka Cruisin')
Hugging and Laughing
High Fives
Inappropriate Jokes

Food: Mel's Diner
Whiskey A-G-o-Go
Viper Room
Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles
Diddy Reed's

And a trip down memory lane! I can't wait for photos from this trip!
